Kellerberrin, 14 April 2025
Following a sacred inaugural ceremony yesterday, the first-ever 14-day Dzogchen retreat officially commenced today under the esteemed guidance of his holiness Gangteng trulku rinpoche.
Organised by the Mahasandhi Centre in Perth, this landmark retreat has brought together dedicated practitioners from across the country, particularly from Perth and Canberra, to receive direct teachings in the profound path of Great Perfection (Dzogchen).
While this retreat cycle has long been established and ongoing in various parts of the world, this marks the first time such a retreat is being held in Australia. With the sincere efforts and vision of the Mahasandhi Centre in Perth, this sacred tradition has now formally taken root here, opening the gateway for a new generation of qualified practitioners.
The retreat, set to occur every four years, initiates a long-term spiritual framework to deepen realization through authentic lineage-based guidance. To prepare future participants for the next cycle, ngondro (preliminary practice) teachings will be conducted on 2 May 2025, following the upcoming public teaching on mindfulness and mental wellbeing (detail program to be announced soon).
This rare and significant retreat not only marks a milestone in the flourishing of Vajrayana teachings but also establishes a continuous cycle of authentic practice and realization, ensuring that future practitioners are firmly grounded in the path through proper training and dedication.
